Seasonal Fun in Room 100

There’s something about celebrating the season through the eyes of a child.  

They make everything magical and fun.

It was a mixture of hugs and tears as we said good-bye to Miss Neuhalfen.  

I've mentioned a few times on here that our classroom was blessed with an incredible student teacher this semester. Miss Neuhalfen was with us since August as part of her teaching program at Wayne State College. Mrs. Fehringer and I felt so lucky to have such a creative and like-minded person essentially team-teaching with us.

So, when it was time to bid Miss Neuhalfen good-bye last week we wanted to make sure we made it extra special. We had lots of help from our wonderful kiddos. 

The largest card EVER expressed our sentiments - -

ranging from silly and fun to serious and sentimental.

After gifts, tears, and special encouragements, 

we turned to treats to bring out the smiles.

Good luck, Miss Neuhalfen.

Your passion and love for students is evident.   

World Kindness Week

 November 11 - 15

Throughout the week, JOOI Club members are asking NMS students to help in our little corner of the world. 

If everybody gives a little, together we can give a lot!

Donations for the week include:

Monday: spare change to support Tornado Relief efforts in Wayne.

Tuesday: paper products such as paper towels, Kleenex, and toilet paper for the Norfolk  Rescue Mission

Wednesday: canned/boxed (non-perishable) food for the Norfolk Food Pantry

Thursday: new or gently-used hats, gloves, and scarves for The Salvation Army

Friday:  bring any of the above donations

Each day a student particpates a colorful "Do Kindness" bracelet will be given. Simply wear the wristband with pride, saying,  "I support world kindness."  

It's "O - fish- al"

Ms. Neuhalfen is teaching in Room 100.

Students welcome Ms. Neuhalfen as their "o-fish-al" teacher for the remainder of the semester.  After some early morning fun, it was down to business in the classroom.

Ms. Neuhalfen joins the middle school staff as a student teacher from Wayne State College. I have worked closely with her the past few months and it is evident she is passionate about many things:  children, learning, the art of teaching, and life in general. She brings the full force of her personality into the classroom and sparks excitement in the learning process. Your children will finish the semester strong!

Our Pumpkin Patch

Pumpkins make everyone think of fall and fall holidays. Room 100 is having their own kind of fun with pumpkins as we prepare for Parent Teacher Conferences this week. Notes were sent home with your child.  Please mark your calendar and plan to attend.

During conferences you are invited into our pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin and learn more about your child. Room 100 is feeling rather festive.
