Welcome! There are so many fun things to do and learn in the fifth grade. I am looking forward to the adventure! It is my goal that your child’s fifth grade experience be filled with personal growth as a thinker and learner.
I have been teaching fifth grade since
2003. I received bachelor's and master's degrees from Wayne State College. I will be your child's teacher for language arts and math. Making learning fun and engaging for my students is my passion. I love using technology and hands-on experiences to
motivate and engage my students.
I have always been a supporter of home-school communication.
This year I will continue using the web to make the home-school connection. A blog can
provide a virtual window into the classroom. Since families and friends love being able to
keep up with classroom events and student learning, we will connect through an
interactive blog. You may choose to visit this blog to view fun
projects, read our stories, catch the latest news, discover special events, and
even watch our class movies. This blog is just for YOU. My
hope is you will check in often to read news from Room
100.
Finally . . . thank you for allowing me to be a part of your child's world. Teaching is my dream job. It makes me smile. It makes me hop out of bed in the mornings excited to have the privilege of doing what I love each day. My heart is full of gratitude for families who play such a valuable role in education.
